When The Room Changes - Changing the Conditions

After the Pause posting at The Listening Room HQ is resumed.

There is something about changing the room to allow us a clear view.

A room change can be whatever suits us. For me it's solitary wee hours walks or ocean swimming.

A walk. Different light. A window opened. Music instead of conversation. Playing an instrument. Taking a different street. The sea.

A place where the body has more space to move and the mind does not have to keep answering the same things, and thinking.

The environment we are in is part of what we are doing, whether we notice it or not.

A man can spend hours trying to think his way through something, only to find that changing where he is changes what becomes possible.

This is one of the things I keep returning to in The Listening Room HQ.

Sometimes the first movement is simply to change the conditions in which we are listening. With enough room for it to move usually our perspective on the same issue shifts.

This is also part of the work we can do in individual Sessions and through Maps & Readings at The Listening Room HQ.

Sometimes the useful question is not only what we are trying to understand, but what happens when we change the conditions in which we are trying to understand it.

We don't always need a new answer. Sometimes we need enough room for the answer we already have to become visible.
